With an extensive background in the manufacturing, warehousing and logistics industries both in North America and international markets, Steve is uniquely qualified to oversee Clutch’s business operations.
John TomacManagement Committee & Advisory Board
John is a retired professional cyclist who competed in multiple disciplines including bmx, mountain biking and road racing. During his successful 25 year career he earned national, world cup and world championship titles. He is regarded as a mountain-biking icon and was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 1991 and the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame in 2004 . John has been active in the Southwest Colorado agriculture industry since 2001 and is currently having success farming hemp on the western slope of Colorado. As an active grower of hemp and former professional athlete, John has a unique perspective on not only growing the hemp plant, but also the physical benefits of cbd on the human body. John is a member of Clutch Hemp’s Management Committee and Advisory Board.
John BaxterAdvisory Board
John received a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton before starting a 25+ year career in the food/ingredients industry. John held a variety of R&D and Quality Assurance positions within Kraft Foods both in the US and Europe. As Global Marketing Executive Vice President/CEO Staff of Kraft’s four global sectors (Snacks, Beverage, Cheese, and Grocery), John had leadership responsibility for $20 billion in annual revenue. John also held the position of President, Nabisco and Group Vice President, Kraft Foods NA prior to relocating to Durango, CO to focus his time on local/regional economic development opportunities.
Chip Wernig and Catherine RobertsHead of Farming Operations
Chip started Palisade Farms in April 2017 after a successful 20-year career in the financial services industry. Palisade Farms is focused on growing exceptional hemp on the Western Slope using genetically superior clones developed in the Palisade Farms’ greenhouse. Catherine attended the University of Idaho Law School and spent seven years in the Natural Resources field before joining with Chip and Palisade Farms in 2019. Together, Chip and Catherine oversee the entire farming and consulting operation and in 2019, executed a strategic partnership agreement with Clutch Hemp.
Markus O’HarekHead of Greenhouse Operations
Markus has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Colorado Mesa University and started Orchard Mesa Greenhouse (OMG) in 1988. With over 30 years of diverse horticulture experience, Markus is expertly qualified to oversees Palisade Farms’/Clutch Hemp’s clone and greenhouse operation. Working with an experienced crew of nearly 20 people, Markus and team are able to grow nearly a million hemp clones in the 100,000 square foot facility.
Ty OdleHead of Extraction Operations
Ty owned and operated Western Slope Extraction before joining Clutch Hemp. For years, Ty has focused his professional efforts towards refining CBD extraction and has helped design and modify processing equipment to maximize oil potency, quality and purity. Ty oversees Clutch’s extraction facility in Western Colorado where he has earned a strong reputation for process integrity and full traceability from plant to finished oil.
